Souvenir is a must thing you have to buy when you travelling in someplace. You can keep it for your self or maybe give it to your friends, family, or people who close to you as a gift.

In Bali you will find many kind of souvenir such as handicrafts, T-shirts, bags, hats, etc. Prices are different based on quality and places where you bought them.

Here are some references for souvenir shopping places in Bali.

  • Sukawati Art Market

Paintings, sculptures, and many others can be found at this market. As it’s named, this market is located in Sukawati Village. This is place where people sell art things and souvenir in low prices. It is a must that you have to bargain in case of getting cheap prices.

  • Gang Poppies (Poppies street)

Alongside this street you will find shops that sell exclusively Bali things like clothes, sandals, bags, hats, souvenirs, home equipments, accessories, even imported books. This street is in front of Kuta Beach, so it’s very easy to find this street. The rule is being clever on bargaining until you get the cheapest one.

  • Jenggala Ceramics

Much kind of ceramics are founded in this place. Ceramics with contemporary styles and exclusively color are the superior product. Besides buying ceramics you can also learn how to make ceramics or paint ceramics. Jenggala ceramics are in Uluwatu Street, Jimbaran, and Kuta.

  • Sentral Ubud

When you come to sentral Ubud, you will see shops that display and offer many kind of crafts like silvers, paintings, and many more.

  • Ubud Art Market

Just like another art market, this place offers crafts, statues, paintings, accessories, and Bali clothes. It’s located in Sentral Ubud.

  • Legian Street

Along Legian street there are small shops until famous boutique. Accessories, clothes and many other fashion stuff are offered there.

  • Bog Bog Shop

Bog Bog Shop is in Veteran Street 34A. This shop sells T-shirt, mug and bag with cartoon pictures. You can choose the pictures or use your own face to be cartooned. Prices are between Rp 200.000- Rp 350.000.

  • Badung Market

Budgeting to Bali Island

They are some Tips to guide you in budgeting when you gonna spend holiday in Bali.

1. Plane tickets
Order plane tickets in earlyday before your flight date for cheapper cost. When its low season, many airline offer promotion ticket arround Rp.325.000,-.For example, with Air Asia you can get two way tickets just Rp.300.000,-. Make your arrival in Bali in the morning so you can have enough time to search hotel, car/motor rent, or many other activities before your rest.

2. Your arrival
Your first step in Bali will charge Rp. 50.000,- for airport tax. Then search for Taxi, choose good reputation taxi like Bluebird. It will cost arround Rp 50.000,- from airport to Kuta (if you like to stay in Kuta). An airport taxi is more expensive than an usual taxi. If you have enaough patient, wait for taxi which drop their passenger, and then directly you in to the taxi.

3. Hotel
On I&II Poppies street you can get many hotel and variation cost from Rp. 50.000/night (with fan) until Rp.250.000/night (with AC) include bread and Tea/Coffee for breakfast. Poppies street located between Kuta Beach and Legian which is the shopping heaven place.

Dont go to Bali in High season( school holiday season) ,June-July and September – Descember,if you dont wanna get difficulties on getting hotel. Before you decide to choose one hotel to stay, its wisely to check one or more other hotel to compare. The important things to check are cleaning room, comfortable bedcover and blanket, cleaning bathroom, is the shower, wastafel and toilet flush work properly? Generally hotel in Kuta are not AC and hot water shower rooms but they’re just fan and cold water shower. If you’re bored with this things, or wanna get out from Kuta, you can choose Denpasar (30 minutes from airport), Sanur Beach Area (20 minutes from airport), or Ubud (an hour from airport).
